Well, I certainly hope those days are behind us. We still have to maintain what we kept though our keep pile seems to keep shrinking! Hal is on his way to the dump at this very moment. We were going to reward ourselves with lunch from Subway but to our surprise Erica reminded us of how we should just cook at home. We should save the eating out for the big events! I do think things are changing for the best around here. I have set aside things for family members, things I think they love and if not into that sale pile they go, not the family member but the stuff! We went through school uniforms and made a list of what is needed and so there are no plans on coming back with bags and bags from the school shopping trip. In fact, I just donated a bag of found school supplies. Yes, excess from the years before. I kept one of each item and the rest went to charity! It feels good to reclaim the space and to be able to help others. We even found a very nice Jansport backpack in our stuff for Shane to use this year. It was one we had used for hiking and other things but it's in great shape and is brown so he likes it. So, no need to purchase a backpack!
Now, let's talk about that sale pile again. I have pulled out some of the nicer items to offer before yard sale day. That includes Vera and silverware. And there is also a list in a note on my FB page.
These random stationary type things are by Vera. The red is a photo ablum. And none have been used.
Yes, these are leaving my house! Carnaby Villager (pink) $35, Animal Kingdom Ditty bag $5, Coin purse with eggs I hink it's called Chanteclair $3, Windsor Navy jewelry bag $5 and Windsor Navy Curvy Tote $20, Sitting in a tree Frill tote $35
Ah, now for the random pieces of silverware we had...
If you see something you like and want me to check on the pattern, let me know :)
I am truly amazed at the excess we, Americans, stock pile. The things we are taught...Bigger is better. More means you are better and the like...well, none of those things are true. Less is more and our lives are about to become so even richer! Thanks to a week of purging and many more weeks of keeping on top of it. It also helped to read the book and to make myself accountable by posting the pics of progress.
If you need and can use, let me know but don't just grab up because you want it. Start thinking about your purchases. If we all do this, we'll all have less debt, less clutter...see I told you less is more!
Way to go Erica!! We're shooting for eating out on big days, too!
