A little off the path...

I love a good adventure as most of my close friends know and I love the quiet of the woods. This weekend, we explored a little of both. We live in such a great city. G'ville offers much for those inclined to the city life but just as much for those who hold a great love for nature. We spend most of our weekdays living in the city...rushing between activities with the kids and working. And this week, really wasn't any different. We had football practice and a tennis match. We attended a beautiful Good Friday service at TUMC and then went full force into the weekend. A free air show at the airport, an Easter Bunny sighting and then a quiet little path in the middle of the hustle and bustle...to sounds and smells of my childhood. I just adored the walk we took and plan to take my kids and the "cuzzies" again and again...we found shark's teeth and just had a grand time! We chose experiences that were so unrelated to one another this weekend and each were all off beat for an Easter weekend.

Here are a few or more pics to let you have a peek into our week and weekend. This is Shane's Upward team for flag football!

Here's Erica in action :)

Erica was asked to help present the cross, robe, crown of thorns and nails for the service.
Thanks to God for giving Alice such a touching vision.

We love watching airplanes and loved that we spent not one penny at the show! We did however pick up some freebies that will be a great addition to Shane's "VIP Air Show" Bday party coming soon!

Our Easter lunch was untraditional-finger sandwiches, fresh carrots and dip, melon and of course, hard boiled eggs! We had a picnic at our pool. Then the kids hunted for eggs.

It took the kids FOREVER to find this last blue egg! They both got golden eggs that had notes for each-amazingly they each got the right one...Good for a trip to the mall and Good for a trip to Toys R Us!

I feel we'll spend SO much more time off the beaten path so don't worry you'll see so much more of this little Hogtowne Creek in upcoming posts!
