Birthdays

Spring means birthdays here at our house and birthdays are HUGE! We've been known to celebrate with several parties, tons of friends and sometimes even trips. This year will be no different in that aspect. But this year is really big...our daughter will be turning 16.
It's kinda crazy. Some days I can hardly believe it. But here we are and we are planning some kind of party too.
Hula hoops, Mason jars, blue ribbons and LOTS of cake!
In just a few weeks, we will be hosting a vintage picnic in celebration of her sweet sixteen.
I've got some pretty strange things to collect for the event this weekend. I have no doubt that it will all fall together nicely since I have my party team beside me. My mom in law, my sister, a few dear friends and we're going throw it all together.
Today I scored some cheap items at the Dollar Tree to add to the mix.
Hula hoops, badminton rackets and a plastic bowl and pitcher that actually match my cut glass cake stand.
Tomorrow I think a trip to a couple thrift shops and junk sales may be necessary. I know my mom's linen closet is full with goods I can use so I'll just be looking for random items that fit the theme.
I've also got some prized blue ribbons to make for our bake off.

So, wish me luck as we head on into birthday mania...just two weeks after Erica's is Shane's STAR WARS party!
