A good day finds me every once in awhile and since today is not so much that for me, I thought I'd write a bit about a day I recently had with my Mom. I had a quick drive up to visit her and being the cool Mom she is, she had a bushel of oysters waiting to roast for us. As we slowed down coming into town, I noticed a yard sale at the beauty shop. I asked Mom if she wanted to go up to it after we got to her house. Of course, she said yes. It was a UMW sale. Ahh, yes, a church sale. I love church sales!
We looked around and after a few minutes I knew this was going to be golden!
I left the sale with 2 embroidered butterfly pillows, 2 small pink glass dishes, 2 framed vintage flower prints, 2 other framed vintage prints (one with an orange grove), a lovely pendant that will make a fantastic necklace, awesome cloth napkins and a very cool tote made from recycled plastic grocery bags. All for how much????
Hmm, I'll let you take a guess.
Oh, I also got cute stickers to use in my class for "Thankfulness".
Yes, the beginnings of a great day.
We also hit a thrift shop and snagged a milk glass dish in the shape of a strawberry and that awesome red suitcase that I adorned with a Cheerwine sticker.
I had only the one day to spend up there at Mom's but it was a good day. I love the simplicity of life up there. Yes, "Sopchoppy and Easy Living, Go Together."
I love the easy way in which you describe your days. Makes me wish I was tagging along. I'm guessing you got out of there for under $10. Am I right?
